NASDTEC's VISION:

To be the leading authority in promoting high standards, ethical conduct, and professional growth in educator preparation, credentialing, and learning, ultimately advancing student success and wellness.

NASDTEC's MISSION:

NASDTEC convenes educational partners, fosters diverse perspectives, and advocates for the teaching profession, while providing leadership, resources, and support to ensure the selection, preparation, licensure, and ongoing development of well-prepared educators.

NASDTEC's Goals:

  1. Goal: Enhance Educator Preparation
    • Objective 1: Lead the adoption and implementation of high standards for the selection, preparation, and assessment of candidates seeking educator certification.
    • Objective 2: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among entities responsible for educator preparation.
    • Objective 3: Ensure the availability of up-to-date information on requirements and processes related to educator preparation.
  2. Goal: Facilitate Seamless Educator Credentialing
    • Objective 1: Promote the mobility of professional educators, enabling seamless transitions between states and jurisdictions.
    • Objective 2: Curate and disseminate current information on credentialing requirements and procedures.
    • Objective 3: Foster effective communication and collaboration among entities responsible for educator credentialing.
  3. Goal: Promote Ethical Professional Practice
    • Objective 1: Develop and disseminate information on educator professional ethics, including model policies, strategies, legislation, and processes.
    • Objective 2: Protect students and the teaching profession by ensuring the implementation of ethical standards and practices.
    • Objective 3: Provide resources and support for addressing educators who have been found unsuitable to practice.
  4. Goal: Foster Continuing Professional Learning
    • Objective 1: Advocate for and promote effective professional learning practices and opportunities.
    • Objective 2: Facilitate communication and collaboration among partners responsible for professional learning.
    • Objective 3: Provide resources and connect members with professional learning opportunities.
