Dr. Lynn Hammonds is NASDTEC's Legislative Update Coordinator.

In this role, Dr. Hammonds will keep NASDTEC members aware of federal and state legislative activity and policy changes related to educator licensure, ethics, conduct, preparation and other items relevant to NASDTEC. She will host webinars at various times throughout the year and have a periodic updates in The Communicator titled Legislative Landscape.

Dr. Hammonds served eleven years as Executive Director of the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board and five years as a Specialist, after 25 years as a classroom teacher and education representative for a technology company. During that time, she was elected President, Vice-President, and Regional Director of NASDTEC and Vice-Chair of PESBA. She credits NASDTEC and PESBA as being the best resource for work in teacher licensure, preparation, and disciplinary matters. She also serves as the Operational Director of PESBA. Dr. Hammonds earned her doctorate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and her dissertation focused on emerging work around the Model Code of Ethics for Educators.
