A quick review of literature reveals a noticeable absence of scholarship in the area of professional ethics pertaining to PK-12 education. We hope to advance and inform the discussion of educator ethics by sharing academic papers, articles, surveys, research findings and published peer reviewed articles.
While district and state policies governing PK-12 educators and the field of educator ethics are closely related, and at times intertwined, deference is given to those works that focus on educator ethics. Such topics include but are not limited to the following: professional decision-making, professional risks and vulnerabilities, ethical complexities, scenarios and dilemmas, codes of ethics, preservice and inservice professional learning, discipline-specific codes of ethics within education and the Model Code of Ethics for Educators.
