Since 1928, NASDTEC has provided support for those who have the important responsibility of overseeing the preparation and licensure of professional educators. As a leader within educator preparation and professional practices, NASDTEC brings a unique perspective that is rooted in the accumulative experience and knowledge of hundreds of professionals who staff educator certification/licensure offices in all 50 states, the U.S. Territories, and several Canadian Provinces. Within each jurisdiction, NASDTEC members oversee the standards and rules that govern educator preparation programs and the laws and regulations that govern the certification or licensure of professional educators.

In recent years, the NASDTEC members who have the responsibility of prosecuting educator misconduct have reported significant increases in the number of adjudicated cases related to the misuse of technology and/or social media. In response to this growing problem, the NASDTEC Executive Board asked noted attorney and author, Frederick Lane, to utilize webinars to share his expertise on how educators, parents, and administrators can avoid cybertraps.
