A Request for Presentation Proposal
Teacher Recruitment and Retention:
Innovation through Collaboration
Ted Andrews Winter Symposium (TAWS)
San Diego, CA Downtown Westgate Hotel
January 4-6, 2017
The TAWS planning committee is soliciting proposals to offer prospective presenters a unique opportunity to share innovative and proven practices. Collaboration among state agencies, educator preparation programs and PreK-12 schools that address innovative approaches to teacher recruitment and retention will be the focus of our general sessions and discussions. In addition, proposals should outline interactive sessions that provide TAWS participants with takeaways they can use in their practice.
The TAWS planning committee believes that it is vital that we conduct a nationwide search for innovative model initiatives and it hopes that groups or individuals will consider submitting a brief proposal and plan to attend the 2017 TAWS. State officials, researchers, P-20 practitioners, and other educators are encouraged to submit presentation proposals designed to inform and engage our attendees in rich discussion.
Selected proposals may be chosen to participate as part of a panel or individual session format, depending on the number and relevance of those proposals submitted and ultimately selected. Session selections will be announced by September 1, 2016.
NOTE: Selected presenters will receive complimentary conference registration for one day but will be responsible for other personal expenses to attend the conference. NASDTEC will provide screen and projector for the presentation; all other audio-visual equipment is the responsibility of the presenter.
